Razor wire trailers are mobile deployment systems designed to transport, deploy, recover and redeploy layered concertina razor wire barriers quickly and efficiently. Rapid Deployment Razor Wire Trailers
A razor wire trailer provides a practical way to deploy concertina razor wire over a perimeter or access area using a towing vehicle. Once positioned at the required location, the trailer can release and stretch the concertina coils as the towing vehicle moves forward, creating a continuous physical barrier.
Depending on the trailer and coil configuration, the system can deploy approximately 100m of layered concertina razor wire. The standard configurations include 3-coil barriers providing approximately 1.7m of protection height and 6-coil barriers providing approximately 2.4m of protection height over a 100m distance.
The trailers are designed for rapid deployment and recovery, making them suitable where a temporary or relocatable perimeter barrier is required.
How Razor Wire Trailers Work
Razor wire trailers are designed around a simple deployment process:
- Connect the trailer to a suitable towing vehicle using the trailer coupling system.
- Position the trailer at the point where the barrier needs to begin.
- Release the barrier holder frame or deployment system according to the selected trailer configuration.
- Drive forward to release and stretch the concertina razor wire barrier.
- Recover the barrier using the trailer's manual or automated collection system, depending on the model.
This approach allows a relatively long razor wire barrier to be transported, deployed and recovered using a purpose-built mobile system.
