Razor wire mesh pricing depends on mesh density, fence height, supply format, quantity and the supporting components required for the perimeter. Use our calculator to estimate your material requirements before requesting a quotation.
Wire Ventures supplies welded security mesh for residential, commercial, industrial and high-security perimeter projects across South Africa. Choose the required mesh configuration and height, then enter your perimeter length to estimate the quantity required.
In addition, the calculator can estimate posts, stays, brackets, binding wire and fixing components. For a complete project price, submit the calculated quantities together with your site details.
What Does Razor Wire Mesh Cost?
Current product pricing starts from R404.80 for the applicable configuration. However, the material price alone does not represent the cost of a complete perimeter installation.
Posts, stays, brackets, fixings, gates, foundations, transport and installation can all affect the final project price. Therefore, the calculator provides a useful starting point, while the final quotation reflects the complete project scope.
Razor Wire Mesh Pricing Calculator
Enter your total perimeter length, select the required mesh density and choose the appropriate height. The calculator then estimates the quantity of materials required for your project.
At present, the calculator uses perimeter length as the measurement method. For complex sites, add a site plan or detailed perimeter layout when requesting a quotation.
What Does the Calculator Include?
The estimator covers the main components required for a welded razor mesh perimeter. Depending on your selected configuration, the calculation can include:
Standard-density mesh
High-density mesh
Main round posts
Intermediate posts
Galvanized stays
Y-brackets
Binding wire
Nuts, bolts and washers
The final material list depends on the project specification. For that reason, use the calculator output as a planning estimate and request a quotation before ordering materials.
Standard vs High-Density Razor Wire Mesh
Configuration
Diamond Aperture
Typical Application
Standard Density
300 mm × 150 mm
High-security perimeter applications requiring the standard mesh configuration
High Density
150 mm × 75 mm
Projects requiring a tighter mesh configuration
A tighter aperture changes the material specification and may affect the final project cost. Select the configuration required by your project specification or contact our team for guidance.
What Affects Razor Wire Pricing?
Several factors influence the final cost of a perimeter-security project. The calculator helps with material quantity; however, the complete quotation considers the wider installation scope.
Mesh density: Standard and high-density configurations use different aperture patterns.
Mesh height: Taller mesh can require additional material and different supporting components.
Perimeter length: Larger boundaries require more mesh, posts and fixings.
Supply format: Sheet and roll configurations can affect quantities and handling requirements.
Supporting components: Posts, stays, brackets and fixings form part of the complete system.
Gates and access points: Vehicle and pedestrian access can increase the project scope.
Installation: Supply-only and installed quotations should be compared separately.
Site conditions: Terrain, excavation, access and location can affect installation and transport costs.
Razor Wire Mesh Sheets vs Rolls
Wire Ventures supplies applicable configurations in 6 m sheets and 29.85 m rolls. Choose the format that best suits the perimeter layout and installation method.
Supply Format
Length
Typical Consideration
Razor Wire Mesh Sheet
6 m
Suitable for defined sections and structured panel installation
Razor Wire Mesh Roll
29.85 m
Useful where the perimeter layout supports continuous roll-based installation
The final choice depends on the perimeter design, supporting structure, handling requirements and installation method.

How to Calculate Razor Wire Mesh Quantity
Start by measuring the total linear perimeter that requires protection. Next, select the required mesh density and height in the calculator. The estimator then calculates an approximate material quantity based on those selections.
Remember to account for corners, gates, access points and changes in direction when reviewing the result. Complex layouts may require a project-specific material take-off before ordering.
For the most accurate quotation, submit the calculated quantities with your site location and project requirements.

Calculator Estimate vs Final Project Price
The calculator provides a material planning estimate based on the information entered. However, the final quotation may change after we review the selected products, quantities, supporting components, delivery requirements and installation conditions.
For larger or more complex projects, provide a site plan or perimeter layout. This allows our team to verify the material requirements before you place an order.
Current product pricing starts from R404.80 for the applicable configuration. However, the complete project cost also depends on mesh density, height, quantity, supporting components, transport and installation.
How is razor wire mesh pricing calculated?
First, enter the total perimeter length. Next, select the required mesh density and height. The calculator then estimates the quantity of mesh and supporting components.
What is the difference between standard and high-density mesh?
Standard-density mesh uses a 300 mm × 150 mm aperture. By comparison, high-density mesh uses a tighter 150 mm × 75 mm configuration.
Can I calculate sheets or rolls?
Yes. The estimator helps calculate the required quantity for the applicable sheet or roll configuration. In addition, it can estimate supporting items such as posts, stays, brackets and fixings.
Does the calculator provide the final installed price?
No. The calculator provides a material planning estimate. The final quotation can also include delivery, foundations, site conditions, supporting components and installation.
Can Wire Ventures supply and install razor wire mesh?
Yes. Wire Ventures supports suitable supply and installation projects across South Africa. Contact the team with your project details for a quotation.
Razor Wire Mesh Installation
Professional installation helps maintain the alignment, stability and security of the completed perimeter. Requirements vary according to mesh height, support structure, foundations, site conditions and the selected fixing system.
Because the mesh contains sharp razor profiles, trained personnel should handle and install it using appropriate protective equipment and safe working procedures.

Safety Warning
Razor wire mesh has extremely sharp steel profiles and can cause serious injury if handled incorrectly. Installation should only be carried out by trained personnel using appropriate protective equipment and safe handling procedures.
Wear suitable cut-resistant gloves, eye protection, protective clothing and safety footwear. Keep unauthorised persons away from the work area and follow applicable occupational health, safety and construction requirements.

Step-by-Step Installation Guide
1. Site Assessment & Planning
Measure the perimeter and identify corners, gates, access points, changes in direction, slopes and other site conditions. Confirm the required mesh height and density before installation begins.
2. Install Support Posts
Post positions, support requirements and foundations should be determined according to the selected fencing system and the conditions of the site.
Dig holes at least 600mm – 800mm deep (deeper in soft soil or high wind areas). Place posts (steel I-beam or Y-posts) and concrete them in. Allow 24–48 hours for curing. Follow our post height recommendations:
1.8m mesh → 2.4m posts
2.4m mesh → 3.0m+ posts
3. Prepare the Framework (if required)
Where the selected system requires additional rails, brackets, braces or horizontal supports, install these before fixing the mesh. Check that the complete support structure is level, plumb and securely fixed.
4. Unroll or Position Mesh Panels
Start at a suitable corner or end post and carefully position the mesh against the support structure. Handle sheets and rolls with appropriate protective equipment and suitable lifting methods.
Keep the mesh correctly aligned as installation progresses and avoid creating unintended gaps between adjoining sections.
5. Secure the Mesh
Attach using heavy-duty spider clamps, bolts, or welded tabs every 300 – 500mm vertically and horizontally. Overlap sections by at least one diamond pattern. Ensure no gaps larger than the mesh aperture. Tighten all fixings securely.
6. Complete Corners, Gates and Access Points
Install corner bracing and gate integrations. Add concertina razor wire or electrification on top for layered security. Trim any sharp edges and perform a final tension check.
7. Inspect the Completed Installation
Inspect the completed perimeter to confirm that the support structure, fixings, joints and access points are secure and that the mesh is correctly aligned.
Remove installation equipment and ensure that the completed perimeter does not contain loose components or unintended openings.
